Pillow in the Way

Ok, so Emily hasn't walked yet. It doesnt seem like that long ago my cousin's little girl, took her first step and I remember telling Emily she had three weeks:) Well, I have absolutely no idea when that actually was, but tonight, Emily stood there and wobbled a little, thinking about taking a step. Then she slowly lifted a foot....before tripping over a pillow and falling flat on her face, of course making her mad. So I dont think it counts as a first step if her entire body is on the ground before she got her foot to the floor. Maybe she thought if she were unsuccessful the pillow would be a softer landing:) She didnt think that it could make it harder to take the step. I also made her an appointment at Penneys (thanks for the vote of confidence Park Wife, but I want good pictures and I forget to take the time to dress her up and get pictures otherwise) to get her pictures made. They have the best deal, even though I have an Olan Mills card. They are slightly more convenient, and I have seen good pictures from the studio that I"m going to. Anyone know if you get online pics with them? If I do, I'll be sure the share them, but that is still three weeks away before I get them made. A busy day...we'll go to the pictures, and then we will go to the doctor, maybe a stop at toys r us or babies r us along the way (depending on time).

Other notes...HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MADDY! I know I'm a day early but the odds of me actually finding time to post two days in a row aren't very high:)

New Things

I think that could be the title for the last year but this specifically means this weekend for Emily. She got her first pair of tennis shoes, her first bag of cotton candy (daddy helped her eat it, Mommy said yucky), and she got to go see the local dog show....I'm not sure which dog was the best dressed or best kisser, but it was fun to watch, except it was a little chilly. She also got her first big box to play in. I sang Row Row Row your boat and showed her how to row. She'd almost do it then she would start clapping. She got a balloon at the fair too. And this was the first time she'd worn this dress...her message to Grandma (who got her the dress) is "Have you ever tried to crawl in this thing? I might have to start walking!" She's about to start walking any day now as it is, but the dress might encourage her:)

Professional Pictures

Ok, I know some of youreading this have used te professional portrait studios way more than I have. Emily's birthday is coming up so want to take her to get her picture made, but am not sure where I want togo. I loved her newborn pictures at Olan Mills and I have their card toget seets for $4.99 each. But everywhere runs specials. Places I'm considering...Sears, Olan Mills, JCpenney, walmart, portrait innovations...thats all i've thought of so far, so who do you like?

I bought her this adorable hat. She looked at me and grinned (I didnt have the camera) and then took it off and held it in the air.

Look she actually has shoes on. Not long though, she took them off once she got on top of the picnic table.

Posting

When I started this blog, it seemed as though life was busy. I had just found out I was pregnant and I was working 40 hours a week. I had time to post almost daily. Lately we are lucky if there is a post more than once a week. Let me explain why....my best friend is pregnant and her shower was last weekend. I have a 10 month old and therefore not a lot of extra money but I still wanted to get her something nice and give her a nice shower so that has kept me busy...plus did I mention the 10 month old?

Happy Birthday Pappy!

Emily wanted to wish Pappy a Happy Birthday today!

If days were 36 hours long, and we still only needed 8 hours of sleep in that time, I could get a lot more accomplished. I could spend more time playing with my little girl. She is in to everything these days, is getting big, and her hair is curling a little more every day! (especially if it is humid!) We are enjoying parenthood and all that comes with it, although those days when teeth are coming in are a little trying sometimes:) Emily has 5 teeth now

which she doesnt use to bite with unless you stick your finger in her mouth to try to see if there are 6 teeth...or what she has currently stuck in her mouth that doesnt belong there. I fyou look closely in these pictures though, you might be able to see how many teeth one of her friends has...for some reason this week he started biting and unfortunately Emily was the recipient a few times.

I've been busy getting stuff ready for big E's baby shower next weekend. Of course, I've also had to spend time outside swinging and exploring, giving Kendall a haircut (I think she can see now!) But i thought i'd take a break and make a quick post. enjoy your labor day weekend.
